Is this cheating?

No. It will not give the answer. If they bring a worksheet, it asks questions until they can do the next step themselves.

Why an AI tutor instead of a person?

Because at 7pm you need patience that does not run out, and some kids would rather stay confused than look stupid in front of someone. This is a voice tutor powered by AI, not a person on Zoom.
